Many Washingtonians have a love/hate relationship with Metro. While we may have our complaints, there’s no denying it can be convenient to stroll to a Metro station and ride the train without the hassle of parking. Some real estate listings mention their location “near Metro,” but that sometimes means a short drive or a long walk, which is less pleasant when it’s cold, rainy, snowy or steamy.
So, we limited this search to homes less than half a mile from a station. If you want two or three bedrooms for roommates or a family, that can be a little more challenging to find and a bit pricier than a one-bedroom home. We found three examples for under $1 million — two well under — in D.C., Maryland and Virginia.
Which one would you choose? Or, have a comparison you’d like to see in an upcoming column? Let us know at metro@washingtonsun.com.
