Rep. Haley Stevens, a Democrat whose stunning eleventh-hour endorsement flip in Michigan’s Senate race made her one of this midterm cycle’s main characters, has quietly left the lineup for what had become one of D.C.’s most anticipated post-midterm events.
The Thursday event, billed as a postelection debrief at George Washington Graduate School of Political Management, comes just days after a Democratic rout that saw the party reclaim control of both chambers of Congress.
Moderated by CNN anchor Manu Raju, other panelists include Morris Katz, a progressive strategist and adviser to New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani, and Nathan Gonzalez, the editor and publisher of Inside Elections.
Maryland Democrat Rep. Jamie Raskin was added to the event lineup on Thursday in Stevens’ place. Neither Stevens’ office nor the George Washington Graduate School of Political Management immediately responded to a request for comment.

Stevens courted backlash this week when she rescinded her endorsement of now Senator-elect Abdul El-Sayed, instead backing his Republican opponent, Mike Rogers.
The decision was the result of long-simmering tensions that began during a bitter primary battle between Stevens and El-Sayed. The congresswoman quickly endorsed her opponent after he claimed victory in the primary, but the pair’s fragile truce broke down in the final days of the general election after El-Sayed uninvited Stevens from a campaign event.
Following her decision to cross party lines in support of Rogers, Democrats chastised Stevens, with House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries writing in a statement that she had “blindsided everyone and isolated herself from the House Democratic caucus.”
