President Donald Trump blamed voters for a tumbling stock market after investors sold off shares in the wake of Democrats’ sweeping midterm victory.

“The Stock Market crashed today because the Dumocrats had a big Tuesday — So sad to see, you only have yourselves to blame!” the president wrote Thursday night on Truth Social.

Since Tuesday’s election, the S&P 500 index shed 4%, and the tech-heavy Nasdaq index dipped by more than 5%. Investments in AI and tech have shouldered much of the stock boom in recent years, but some investors speculate that Democratic control may be bad for business.

Trump said a Democratic victory was Americans’ loss.

“It took so much work to get us to a level that no one has ever seen before, and then this. Your 401(k)s have, therefore, dropped. Remember, it wasn’t Republicans, it was Dumocrats. Do not fear, however, we will soon, one way or the other, be BIGGER AND STRONGER THAN EVER BEFORE,” he wrote in a second post.
