Pedestrian in Critical Condition After Being Hit by Metrobus

A man is in critical condition after being hit by a Metrobus while crossing a street in Petworth on Monday evening.

A bus traveling the D74 route struck the pedestrian at around 7 p.m. near the intersection of Georgia Avenue NW and New Hampshire Avenue NW, according to the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority.

The man was conscious when police arrived, and he was taken to a nearby hospital with serious injuries, according to the Metropolitan Police Department, which is leading the investigation into the incident.
