Conservative commentator and former Fox News host Tucker Carlson is officially done with the Republican Party — and says he expects others to follow him into the political wilderness.
“I’m out,” Carlson said on the “Can’t Be Censored” podcast, which is hosted by former Canadian journalists Travis Dhanraj and Karman Wong, during an episode published Thursday. The comments did not surface widely online until Monday. “If I’m out, then I think a lot of other people are out, too,” he added.
Carlson’s breakup with the Republican Party represents a growing frustration with the Trump administration’s strenuous support of Israel and its ongoing conflict with Iran, both issues that public opinion polls suggest are becoming increasingly unpopular.
