The White House launched its own news channel dubbed “Trump TV” on Monday, days after President Donald Trump banned CNN, MS NOW and Politico from the White House, but the platform kicked off its first livestream with a two-month-old clip of the president speaking at Mount Rushmore.
Teasers for the new media venture first appeared on the White House’s social media channels Monday morning, quipping “something’s coming.” The posts were followed by a flashy promotional video that promised a nonstop live feed covering the administration kicking off at 7 p.m.
“Watch the Trump Administration’s biggest moments all in one place,” the announcement said. “Top videos, major remarks, and must-see highlights streaming 24/7 and updated in real time. Stay informed and stay up to date!”
The buzz drummed up speculation that the administration was forming its own state-run newsroom.

After the launch, Trump spokesperson Kaelan Dorr clarified Trump TV would be “a livestream of the Administration’s greatest hits, unfiltered,” running past clips that spotlight moments he said weren’t featured in mainstream news.
“The press, in some cases, reported inaccurately or not at all on the Administration’s many record breaking accomplishments on behalf of all Americans,” Dorr said.
The feed is broadcast on the White House YouTube channel, which is also hosted from the “live” section of the White House app that both previously carried coverage of the president
The hype storm comes days after Trump banned three major news outlets from the White House and threatened that more “fake news” outlets could be blacklisted in the coming days.
CNN, MS NOW and Politico responded with a federal lawsuit against the Trump administration following the president’s announcement on Friday.
“Media Outlets shouldn’t be able to constantly write or report FICTION and LIES when they’re covering the President of the United States,” he wrote on Truth Social.
