Contractors are redoing weeks of construction work on President Donald Trump’s White House helipad after he reportedly took issue with its appearance and its slope, which he wants to be more level.
The changes, first reported by The Washington Post, are already underway. Photos taken by The Associated Press show contractors removing parts of the 100-foot-wide presidential seal, made of granite, that had already been installed.
The president pushed for the helipad, which is estimated to cost up to $6 million, after a new, more powerful fleet of Marine One helicopters damaged the grass. The project adds to his growing list of renovation projects at the White House and across the nation’s capital.
