President Donald Trump will meet with New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani on Monday, as the president travels to the city for the United Nations General Assembly this week.

The meeting marks the third time Trump and Mamdani have met in person. The pair will sit down at Gracie Mansion, the mayor’s official residence.

“The meeting will focus on issues affecting New York City and New Yorkers,” Mamdani’s office said in a statement. The White House also confirmed the meeting.

Trump and Mamdani have a complex relationship. The president sharply criticized Mamdani during his campaign for mayor, calling him a “a 100% Communist Lunatic” in a post on Truth Social in June 2025.
