Whether you’re a tinkerer, a collector or just have a household full of drivers, your wish list may be topped by a big garage. Unlike car culture meccas like Los Angeles, where there are about 80 properties currently listed for sale with garage parking for six or more cars, the D.C. region isn’t overflowing with garages. (That is, unless you happen to have $29.95 million to spend on an estate like 1288 Ballantrae Farm Drive in McLean, which has six garage spaces.)
Still, it’s possible to find a home with extra parking. This may mean a three-car garage or a two-car garage with extra off-street parking, or perhaps a garage with a lift or tandem parking to fit more cars into a smaller footprint.
We found options in D.C., Maryland and Virginia for single-family homes priced under $900,000 that include parking for at least three cars.
Which one would you choose? Or, have a comparison you’d like to see in an upcoming column? Let us know at metro@washingtonsun.com.
