Save America PAC — President Donald Trump’s preferred vehicle for paying legal bills — spent more than $5.1 million on legal bills during the third quarter, or around $56,000 per day, according to the committees’ latest filing to the Federal Election Commission.
That kind of spending has sent the leadership PAC — which is often pushing money out the door faster than it can come in — into legal debt topping $1.9 million.
Never Surrender, another Trump leadership PAC, helped to bail out Save America PAC by transferring from its account almost all of the $4.8 million Save America took in during the third quarter.
But it wasn’t enough to cover all of Save America’s legal bills, or the other $343,000 Save America spent on media consulting, payroll and other expenses, FEC records indicate.
