Democrats Fret Over DNC Woes but Don’t Call for Martin to Go

Few would criticize Chair Ken Martin directly, but they said the organization’s growing problems and fundraising issues were “alarming.”

The internal turmoil at the Democratic National Committee has alarmed some top Democrats, who worry the national party organization is not well positioned to make gains in this year’s midterms elections.

“Obviously, the amount of money they’re raising is alarming,” said Sen. Chris Murphy (D-Connecticut), a potential 2028 contender who has been stumping for Democratic candidates ahead of November.

The DNC has been plagued by money woes since Kamala Harris’ loss in the 2024 presidential election. The committee even put its physical headquarters in Washington, D.C., up for collateral last year in order to obtain a $15 million line of credit to help invest in off-year elections, NOTUS reported over the weekend.
