This Freshman Congressman Is Out-Legislating All Other Lawmakers

The 119th Congress is on track to be one of the least productive in recent history, furthering the trend of fewer and fewer bills ever becoming law. Setting aside the renaming of buildings such as post offices, most House lawmakers have never introduced a bill that a president signed into law.

Rep. Nick Begich III, the freshman lawmaker representing Alaska, is bucking that trend.

Since he entered the House in January 2025, six of Begich’s bills have passed through Congress and earned President Donald Trump’s signature — outpacing every one of his congressional colleagues.
