DCCC Chair Says Republicans Are Trying To ‘Rig the System’ Through Redistricting

Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee Chair Suzan DelBene says Democrats will counter Republican efforts to pick up seats in the upcoming midterms using mid-decade redistricting.

“Republicans continue to be on this bent to redraw the lines. We absolutely are going to respond,” DelBene said on the On NOTUS podcast. “We are going to use every tool we have to respond across the country. We are not going to let them unilaterally just change lines.”

DelBene referred to the recent Supreme Court decision on the Voting Rights Act, which opened the door for Louisiana and other states to redraw their congressional maps, as “terrible,” and pledged a multi-pronged response.
