Pete Buttigieg will embark on an aggressive seven-state campaign tour in the final 10 days of the midterm election, according to a copy of his schedule shared with The Washington Sun, as the potential future presidential candidate attempts to boost Democrats in battleground states and districts.
His tour will see him make three stops in his adopted home state of Michigan, while also rallying in states with competitive Senate races like Georgia, Mississippi and Minnesota. He’ll make his final appearance in Detroit on Election Day, trying to rally voters ahead of Michigan’s key Senate race.
The final sprint of events caps a busy year of campaigning, which has seen the former presidential candidate hold more than 50 events with Democratic candidates up and down the ballot.
If he chooses to run, Buttigieg is one of the early leaders for his party’s presidential nomination in 2028, according to polls. He’s widely viewed as all-but-certain to enter the race, although he has publicly demurred when asked about it.

Buttigieg advisers this year have touted the former mayor’s ability to campaign in even red states and districts, saying it’s proof of his popularity with moderate voters. He’ll continue that battleground push on Saturday, campaigning with Democratic Sen. Jon Ossoff in Georgia before campaigning with the Democratic candidate Pia Dandiya in Florida’s 22nd Congressional District on Monday.
According to his schedule, he’ll be in Mississippi on Tuesday with Scott Colom, the Democratic nominee for Senate; Colorado on Wednesday; and Michigan on Thursday and Friday. He will end his trip with visits to Minnesota next Sunday — campaigning with Democratic gubernatorial nominee Amy Klobuchar and Senate nominee Peggy Flanagan — and Wisconsin on Monday, before making his final stop in Detroit.
